Ladder Incidents
May13-Calgary. Volunteer worker using ladder to position wood support, ladder slid, fell 3.3m, injury to ankle requiring medical attention.
May11-Nisku. Worker on step ladder against exterior of building, ladder tipped away from building, fell 2m, worker in hosp more than 48hrs
May16-Calgary. Worker on portable ladder to hang flag on light post, using body harness, post failed structurally, hosp more than 48hrs
Incident-June12-Calgary. Worker using an extension ladder fell, worker in hospital more than 48hrs.
Incident-June14-Calgary. Worker lost footing, slid down unsecured extension ladder, transported to hospital, will remain more than 48hrs.
Incident-June10-Edmonton. Worker climbed up extension ladder, base slid towards wall, worker fell, landed on I-beam, in hospital 48hours +
Incident-June2-Fort Hills. Worker on fixed ladder, weight shifted, injury to tendons in arm, surgery, greater than 48hrs in hospital
Inc-June1-Red Deer. Worker on extension ladder painting interior wall, ladder slid, fell 1.2m to ground, lacerated head, hosp and released.
Incident-May31-Niton Junction. Worker standing on hood of tractor, removing piece of equipment, fell 1.93m, struck head, deceased.
Incident-May30-Calgary. Worker housekeeping at construction site, bumped ladder, ladder struck shoulder/head, hospital and released.
